Here I sit in my dad's office with super fast internet. Ahhhh, being back in Portland is great. The weather is beautiful, the scenery is beautiful, and I get to see my family. It doesn't get much better than that. In about an hour I'm heading over to Alicia's graduation party. I'm glad that it's happening while I'm here. I feel like I've missed out on a lot of stuff 'cause I've been far away. My family is coming over around 2 this afternoon. I'm really excited to see my sister, step-sister & grandparents; it's been too long.
Oh, good news on the job front. Ez found out about a job opening at his school in the computer lab/library as a teacher's aide. I meet all of the requirements & faxed over my resume. It opens up mid-August, so I'll be there right in time. I hope I get it. It would be nice to have a good full-time job at the same place as Ez.
Jeopardy! tryouts are tomorrow. Honestly, I'm not feeling too confident. I planned on beefing up on some basics (world capitals, vice presidents, chemistry. . .), but I just didn't get around to it. Whoops!! Oh well, if I don't make it on when I'm 22, I'll have plenty more chances when I'm older.
Well, I'm going to go & soak up some sunshine. It's suposed to be about 100 degrees here the next couple of days. And for those of you who don't know, that's REALLY hot for Portland. I suppose I'm preparing for Phoenix.
Hugs.

So, it's been awhile.
This week I reprised my role as percussionist with the Meridian Symphony Orchestra. I had a lot of fun, mostly because my favorite person from work (Mona) was playing too. Our concert was Thursday night & went well. They told me that I am permenantly hired. Woo hoo! Oh yeah, the guy playing snare thought I was 16. Whatever.
Ben is spending the night tonight!! He left Wisconsin yesterday morning & expects to be here at some point today. It will be nice to see him.
Okay, I will write more later. I have to get ready for work.

A spontaneous decision to go shopping this evening proved to be a worthwhile venture. Besides buying the essentials (conditioner, contact solution, etc.), I picked up 2 dresses, 2 pairs of shoes, some tee shirts, and what might be the most exciting thing. . .a new bra. Contrary to popular belief (ahem. Dave) I do wear them on occasion. And this bra even makes it look like I am the owner of a chest! Imagine that! Actually, don't. That's creepy. Anyway, I'm excited. I now have boobs (kinda).
In other news. It's nearly 4 in the morning & I'm still awake. At this point I've given up on sleeping. The alarm is going off at 6 anyway. It's a good thing Ez is an insomniac too. He's just about the only person I would feel comfortable calling at 2:30 in the morning. As I thought. He was up.
Also, today I walked by the fence & it was duck-free! I saw them swimming in the creek. I was like a proud mama.

Today I was a hero.
I saved a duck. A little duckling!
I saw him stuck in a chain-link fence while I was walking home. His body was on one side of the fence & his legs were stuck on the other. The mom was really pissed off & was pecking me, but after several minutes of manipulation, I was able to get the ducky out. I slipped him under the fence & the duckies dove into the water. Hooray!!

So I suppose it's time for an update. Here it goes.
I'm moving to Phoenix in August. That's the biggest thing, I guess. I'll be moving in with Ez and his parents. Of course I decide to go during the hottest part of the year. It's a dry heat, right? I keep telling myself that. I'll be getting a job, maybe doing an internship at a recording studio, spending a ton of time with my best friend, and making music. Lots of music. If there is one thing that sucks about Boise, it is the lack of music. The most musical thing I've done here was play some Bach on my clarinet. I suck at the clarinet. Ez already has an excellent voice teacher picked out & we'll be playing a lot of music around the house. Yay!
So, if you haven't come to visit here in Boise, you're more than welcome to stop by Phoenix!
I don't really know what else is new. Oh, I got my acceptance to the Port Townsend Jazz Workshop & now I'm hoping to get some good news from the financial aid front.
Bits and pieces. . .
I got an mp3 player.
I really like Brazilian music and want to learn Portuguese.
Getting up at 6 every day for work sucks.
I like cookie dough ice cream, Papa Murphy's Gormet Vegetarian Pizza, and Kettle Chips Honey Dijon flavor. Not together mind you.
My mom and I watched "Everyone Says I Love You" last night. It's quite possibly the cutest movie ever. Thanks Woody!
I had some crazy dreams last night. In one, I was having an affair with a teacher at my school. We were found out & had to escape all crazy like. I even had a plot to blow up the school. It was straight out of an action movie. Sweet! Maybe that's why I slept so late. . .
I got a great letter from Kari yesterday (I'll write you back really soon. I promise!)
