YEAR-END SURVEY
.) Where did you bring in 2006? With my Dad and Tammy at their house.
.) What was your status by Valentine's Day? Well, that's usually complicated. I got a really sweet valentine from Ez & I had a great date with Shane Leonard. Speaking of Shane, have any of you talked to him recently? He still has some of my stuff (I hope).
.) Were you in school (anytime this year)? Actually, no! I did, however, play in the Scottsdale Community College Big Band.
.) How did you earn your keep? I worked at a music store in Boise, I spent 2 LONG weeks at a crazy charter school in Phoenix, took old rich people to tables at a 5 diamond resort, and sang.
.) Did you ever have to go to the hospital? I think all of my hospitalling occurred in 2005.
.) Have you ever encountered the police? Not in a negative way.
.) Where did you go on vacation? Most of my travelling isn't really a vacation. I went to New York twice & went home a couple of times.
.) What did you purchase that was over $500? Plane tickets, a trumpet, and a flugelhorn.
.) Did you know anybody who got married? I think I just went to two weddings: Jason & Ivanna and Alex & Tyler. They both were great!
.) Did you know anybody who passed away? I'm sure I did. I just can't remember right now. I think my Uncle Bill died this year, but it could've been last year.
.) Have you ran into anybody you graduated high school with? Probably. I saw my best friend Alicia & we went to high school together. It's a lot easier to run into high school buddies when you live in the same state.
.) Did you move anywhere? Oh my god, that's an understatement! I moved to Boise, then to Scottsdale, now back to Boise, soon to return to Eau Claire.
.) What sporting events did you go to? I believe I managed to escape all sporting events!
.) What concerts did you go to? I saw a ton of AMAZING concerts this year!! Besides all of the great stuff at IAJE (Maria Schneider, John Hollenbeck, Monty Alexander. . .) and the awesome people at Centrum (Ingrid Jensen, Benny Green, Jon Wikan, George Cables, Steve Wilson. . .), I saw Geri Allen, the Village Vanguard Band, Ez's Quartet, the Quartet of Happiness, Billy Hart's Academy, my friends in the Uprite Dub Orchestra, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. It was a wonderful year for music.
.) Are you registered to vote? Not currently. I think I'll register when I plan to be somewhere longer than 4 months.
.) If so, did you do your patriotic duty on Nov. 7? No, but I will next November when I'm in New York.
.) Where do you live now? I've lived in Boise for a whole 21 hours.
.) Describe your birthday. It was really nice. Barry made omelets, I went to big band rehearsal, my mom and I went to the Desert Botanical Gardens, I ate lots of fabulous Mexican food & drank even more terriffic margaritas, watched some sweet Oscar Peterson, and ate some Harvest Pie (it's delicious). I had a nice day.
.) What's the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2006? Get serious about the trumpet, live in Arizona, gain this much weight. . .
.) What is one thing you regretted this year? Leaving my laptop on the floor - it got stepped on.
.) What's something you learned about yourself? I can be okay even if I don't play trombone.
.) Any new additions to your family? I don't think so.
.) What was your best month? July. The last week in July was quite possibly the best week of my life.
.) What from pop culture will you remember 2006 by? Watching all of the terrible reality shows with Ez on E!
.) How would you rate this year with a scale from 1 (shitty) to 10 (the shit)? It's really been a roller coaster. I wouldn't call 2006 a good year, but some parts of it were nice. Maybe a 4 or 5. I really think 2007 is looking up!
